One of the key things that separates Bernard Smith from other retailers, especially internet traders, is the provision of engineering and support to our customers by our own dedicated staff on site in Barnstaple. In recent years manufacturers have tried to remove servicing of high technology products from traditional retailers such as Bernard Smith in an effort to centralise their support. This has typically failed to deliver the level of service demanded by customers and so now many manufacturers are again looking to well trained, well resourced dealers to provide local service, especially on the key high technology products such as digital television, plasma, LCD and DVD Recorders.

As a company who strongly resisted the move away from local service and campaigned for the manufacturers to change their policies, Bernard Smith have now been appointed by Panasonic, Sony, Samsung  and Pioneer as a service centre for their high technology products. Naturally we also service the full range of Bang & Olufsen products as well. We are very pleased to have been recognised as providers of the levels of  ability and service required to undertake this work for the manufacturers under warranty and for our customers. Despite all the hype, the big multiples and internet traders cannot offer this service! We can and do.

We have a well equipped service department based in the same building as the shops, staffed by a team of engineers factory trained by the manufacturers and equipped with a hefty investment in test equipment. We also have that critical close link with our manufacturers to give us the best chance of sorting your problems as quickly as possible.
